General Instructions

  • The abstract submission site will open at 9:00 AM GMT+0900 on Mar 10, 2018, and will close at 23:59 GMT+0900 on Jul 31st, 2018. Any abstracts submitted after this deadline will not be considered for acceptance. Completing your submission process at least 2-3 days before the deadline is recommended to avoid connection error due to website overload. Abstract modification is also possible until the abstract submission deadline.
  • Abstract submissions are only accepted online at http://koreanesthesia.med1dev.net/html/?pmode=aabstract.
  • Please make sure you receive an e-mail confirmation of your submission before the abstract submission deadline. If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation within 30 mins of finalizing your abstract submission, please call our submission hotline (+82 2 6263 2053) or e-mail us at secretariat@koreanesthesia.org for assistance with your submission.
  • Submission of scientific papers that have already been published in indexed journals is not allowed. However, papers that are not yet submitted or currently under review are eligible for submission.
  • Notification of acceptance will be sent to the submitting author via e-mail on Aug 14, 2018.
  • The submitting author must complete and submit a disclosure form for potential conflict of interest. A conflict of interest may exist when an author (or author's institution or employer) has financial or personal relationships or affiliations that could influence (or bias) the author's decisions, work, or abstract. The ICMJE Uniform Disclosure Form for Potential Conflict of Interest (www.icmje.org/conflicts-of-interest/) will be used. Your submission will not be considered final until disclosure information is complete.
  • The submitting author must confirm that the submitted research was approved by the author's affiliated institution's institutional review board (IRB). Abstracts that involve human studies must confirm that informed consent was obtained from each subject and/or legal guardian, or that waiver of consent was granted by the IRB.
  • The submitting author is considered as the presenting author. The presenting author of each abstract must attend the Annual Scientific Meeting of the KSA and must register no later than Jul 31, 2018. If you wish to change the presenting author after submission of the abstract, you must notify the KSA in writing as soon as possible (secretariat@koreanesthesia.org). The new presenter must be a co-author of the abstract.
  • Presenting authors from outside of the Republic of Korea will be granted complimentary registration to attend the KoreAnesthesia 2018.
  • The KSA reserves the right to withdraw an abstract at any time.

Instructions for Online Abstract Submission

  • All abstracts must be written in English. Spellings should abide by American spelling.
  • The KSA will not edit abstracts. Carefully review your abstract for grammar and syntax prior to submission. If English is not your first language, we recommend that you have your abstract reviewed by a native speaker before submission.
  • The abstract title is limited to 300 characters (including spaces). Type your title using upper and lower case letters and refrain from using abbreviations.
  • Abstracts should consist of four sections: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. The Background section should clearly state the study hypothesis, and the Methods and Results should be written in sufficient detail to support the conclusions.
  • The abstract text is limited to 3,400 characters (including spaces). Up to two references (refer to the submission guidelines of the KJA) are allowed, limited to a total of 500 characters. Please do not include the abstract title and name of the authors in the main text.

  • You can check the number of characters while you are entering your abstract. When the character count limit is exceeded, contents will be automatically deleted as much as the number of characters exceeded.
  • Carefully review your entire abstract on the preview screen before completing your submission.

Information for Poster Presentation

  • The presenting author should prepare a "Poster" and submit via the KoreAnesthesia website. For submission, please, go to http://koreanesthesia.org > Call for Abstracts > Abstract Modification.
  • Posters must be submitted as a PDF file and will be displayed on a digital image display device for presentation.
